Turkey Tours: Honeymoon in Turkey

“Balı Ayı” – translates literally “the honey moon” from Turkish to English. There are many wonderful and adventure filled honeymoon experiences that you might consider planning in Turkey. Many adventurous couples from continental Europe and Great Britain plan exciting destination weddings in places like Antalya, Bodrum, Fethiye and Alanya. Yachting, hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, delicious cuisine, friendly service and comfortable climate make Turkey a great choice for a honeymoon destination. There are three types of honeymoons that I would suggest for those of you contemplating a honeymoon in Turkey:

Turkish Cultural Adventure Honeymoon

Turkish Beach Resort Honeymoon

Turkish Seaside Adventure Honeymoon

Turkish Cultural Adventure Honeymoon

One of the first customers that Dos Plumas Travel hosted in Turkey was a couple who had just got married and graduated from Law School. The couple wanted a special time visiting some of the best cultural locations of Turkey including Istanbul, Izmir and Cappadocia. On their tour they visited places with awe inspiring architecture including the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque), and the Topkapi Palace. During their stay they were put up in high class hotels, like the Ottoman Imperial in Istanbul and the Museum Cave Hotel in Cappadocia. Aside from the beautiful geography and cuisine the wealth of history in the country provides much to think about and imagine as you follow in the footsteps of other great romantics like Paris and Helen of Troy and Marc Antony and Cleopatra. As a couple you can walk the streets of ancient Ephesus and see the excavated remains of ancient cultures and riches great places for beautiful photos at arms length distance (the standard honeymoon photo range).

Turkish Beach Resort Honeymoon

If traveling to many different historical sites is not your cup of tea, then you might consider one of the beautifully themed beach resorts on the Southern coast of Turkey. Take in the Mediterranean from the beach side while you soak up the sun and relax after the stress filled process of planning and pulling off a wedding. There are a plethora of nice all inclusive beach resort hotels in resort towns like Alanya, Belek, Bodrum, Kaş, Kemer and Side to name a few. These locations have all the expected amenities with groomed beaches, water sports activities, optional tours and much more.

If you like the beach but don’t necessarily want to stay in a busy all inclusive hotel there are many more adventurous and memorable options, like the Turkmen Tree House Hotel where you can stay in a honeymoon suite up in a tree. This is the perfect idea for the naturalist looking for a getaway from the busy city life. The Turkmen Tree House Hotel and several other tree house hotels like it are located in Olympos and Çıralı. Where one can commune with nature and breath fresh pine scented air. Optional boat tours and hikes are available at this location.

Turkish Seaside Adventure Honeymoon

If you would like to escape from everyone, save your captain and crew then chartering a yacht and crew for a week at sea exploring the coves and beach caves that are only reachable by boat along the Turkish coast near Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye. Enjoy the turquoise seas of the beautiful Mediterranean while enjoying the sun and delicious cuisine. Fresh grilled fish, lamb, beef, chicken and a wealth of fruits and vegetables make Turkish Cuisine one of the best in the world and the sun and salt water coupled with plenty of chances to swim, snorkel and even SCUBA dive give every passenger a big appetite for the best things in life. This is the kind of honeymoon planned by royalty but can be enjoyed by many. If you’re interested in booking this kind of honeymoon adventure click here.
